Oral traditions and histories are important resources, especially for telling stories that might be missed by the history books. You might work with an oral history recorded many years ago, or opt to conduct your own interview as part of your research.
An oral history might be in the form of an interview with someone who witnessed an event. Oral traditions are histories that are preserved and shared through word of mouth rather than in writing. Both are primary sources that you are encouraged to use in your History Day project.
